I've learned this recipe from our Chef, the time we used to open takeaway shop in London. My recipe is not exactly same like he used to make because I add some extra chilli and make some adjustment according to my taste. My friends and family really enjoyed this recipe whenever I make at home.

What Type Of Chicken To use: I used chicken breast for this recipe, cut into generous chunks. Alternatively you could also use skinless chicken thigh cut into chunks if you prefer.

The amount ofchilli used in this recipe makes the chicken what I would call mild tomedium. When you eat the chicken youcan definitely taste a little bit of heat, but its not overpowering.

And you can make a big quantity of this spice mix and store it in an air tight container to use as you need it. Not only can you make a delicious salted chilli chicken, but you can easily make salted chilli meatballs, turkey, fish or steak!

Absolutely. I often make this dish with boneless, skinless chicken thighs cut into cubes. The recipe remains exactly the same, but you will cook the cubed chicken for less time. Just cook it until the cubes are browned all over, about 3 to 5 minutes.

The main part that stands out in this dish is the spices and vegetable combination, which is packed with lots of flavours. To make this recipe, you can use almost every part of the chicken, but wings, breasts, and thighs are popularly used.

You can make this classic Chinese household dish recipe with any cut of meat. For this recipe, we will use the breast to make a juicy and flavorful fried dish. Fried chicken is delicious and got lots of proteins and vitamins, which are good for your health.

Simply add all the marinated poultry meat pieces to the fryer and fry them. Be careful not to overcrowd the fryer; place them in a single layer. To make healthy salt and pepper chicken in the air fry,

Oven baking is quite healthy and an easier option for cooking. You can bake salt and pepper chicken without creating a mess from frying in the kitchen area. You usually need lots of oil for pan-frying, but you can use less oil with an oven, which is healthier.

So many recipes call for double-frying. But my recipe will give you the ultimate crunch without this additional step. Although, I will also share below how you can air fry or bake these salt and pepper wings.

Oh wow I made this last night and it did taste like our Chinese takeaway!!! We always order Salt and pepper ribs and prawns and they taste just like this chicken recipe. A super easy and fast air fryer salt and pepper chicken recipe that creates extra crispy chicken bites coated in a delicious pepper salt without making a mess. It takes no time to put together and tastes just as good as deep-fried! Gluten-Free

Salt and pepper chicken is a famous Taiwanese snack, featuring crispy chicken bites coated in a savory pepper salt and garnished with crispy basil and chili pepper. It used to be my favorite snack to order when I would meet up with friends for bubble tea.

The key ingredient to making the pepper salt is white pepper. It has a brighter tone that really stands out. A touch of five spice powder adds warm flavor to the chicken, making it richer and more savory. I also love to serve my air fryer salt and pepper chicken with a squeeze of lemon.

These fried wings are everything you love in a fried chicken dish - crunchy, tasty and spicy. You can get mouthful flavours of the gingery fried meat, garlicky marinade, and a topping of chillies and garlic. It is worth trying at home because when you order the wings from takeout, they lose their crunchy texture.

In our recipe below, you will get to know how you can fry the chicken in a frying pan. Not to mention, you can also opt for a healthier version and reduce the calories (and guilt!) by using an air fryer or oven. We include all three cooking approaches below!

Salt and pepper chicken wings are a tasty, spicy, savoury, and salty Chinese takeaway dish that is very popular among people. They are often mentioned as 'salt and chilli wings' or 'salt and spicy wings.'

To make Szechuan style fried wings, you need Szechuan pepper salt to season the meat. It is a Chinese takeout favourite as it is spicy. The ingredients also include a mix of hot chilli peppers and garlic.

To make Vietnamese salt and pepper chicken wings, the main thing is you need to make sure is that it comes out super crispy and crunchy. For that, tapioca starch and cornstarch are the best ingredients to get those results.

If you are looking to reduce calories or a healthier version of the Chinese salt and pepper chicken wings, then the air fryer version is the way to go. By air frying, you reduce the amount of oil used in cooking the dish.

If you want a healthier option but do not own an air fryer, then you can bake your salt and pepper chicken wings. Moreover, you do not need to worry about the mess that usually comes with frying meat in the kitchen. All you need to do is prepare the ingredients and let them bake in the oven.

Red and green chillies add spiciness to the dish. You could substitute these for chilli flakes or add chilli powder to the spice rub. This recipe has a medium to high level of heat. If you are sensitive to spice you can reduce the amount of chilli used or omit it.

Add the chicken pieces to a mixture of egg white, soy sauce and sesame oil and leave to marinate while you prep the rest of the ingredients. Stir the Chinese five spice, salt and pepper together in a small bowl and set aside.

This recipe has been tested on the stove, but can also be cooked in the oven or air fryer if you are looking for a healthier option. Note that ovens and air fryers can differ and cooking times may vary. Keep an eye on the chicken as it cooks to ensure you don't overcook it.

Bake the chicken pieces at 180C or 350F for 10 minutes until the chicken is golden. Place under the grill/broiler for a few minutes to get the chicken extra crispy. You can prepare the veggies on the stove following the recipe from step 7 onwards while the chicken bakes.

Brush the air fryer with oil and cook for 25 minutes at 195C or 380F, shaking the basket regularly (every 5 minutes) to ensure the chicken is evenly cooked. Cook at 205C or 400F for five more minutes to get it nice and crispy. Meanwhile, cook the veggies on the stove following the recipe from step 7.

So I made these wings tonight, followed the recipe almost exactly (I used lemon pepper instead of regular salt & added thinly sliced serrano peppers to the seasoning portion) and they were FANTASTIC!!! I was skeptical because the slurry had no seasoning but they were good! I probably will add a little seasoning next time though.

16 minutes of frying time sounds like it would result in dried out chicken? I normally deep fry my wings for 7 minutes total, so I may try this cutting the cook time in half. I love salt and pepper wings, and look forward to trying the spice blend for the end. Our local Chinese restaurant adds jalapeños with seeds as well, tastes so good with a little bit of heat. Thanks for the recipe!

this recipe uses a double fry technique which is why the wings are fried so long. the idea is to render off the fat of the skin on the wings so that the skin itself is super crispy instead of just the batter around the wing. Because it uses a wet batter, your chicken will not dry out.

From how to cut chicken wings into wingettes and drumettes. How to flavour chicken wings by coating with flour, Chinese five-spice, salt and pepper. Finally, how long to cook chicken wings in the oven.

Yes, you can but I would suggest working from the cooking times on the chicken breast packaging as it will differ from the chicken wings cooking time. Once the breasts are cooked through, work from step 5 on the recipe card. Or you can chop up the chicken breast into chunks and fry them until cooked through and work from step 5 again.Enjoy ?

Chicken wings are a staple takeout order in our house. I don't think I have ever seen a salt and pepper chicken wing offered on any restaurant menu though! I will definitely be trying these out at home. They sound delicious!

I love Indo Chinese food and I'm damn serious about Chinese chilli chicken. I've only been having chilli chicken for the last 30 years of my life (yes, I'm that old!) and it's only like my favorite starter to order when we go out.
